Healing Ministry

Healing Ministry Sessions are offered every third Monday of the month at 7 pm at Lakeview United. Our Healing Ministry Regional page provides more information about healing and how to participate.

 What does “healing” mean?

We believe that healing is a process guided by God to restore balance and wholeness of body, mind and spirit, not only within the individual, but also within relationships, community and creation.  In our work with individuals, our goal is to restore harmony and balance in the energy system placing the person receiving in a position to self heal. Healing can happen in unexpected ways.
Healing Ministry is a form of prayer. We enter into this work with the intention of doing the highest good for the person we are working with. The healers offer themselves as a channel for God’s healing power, meeting people where they are.

Who can benefit from our Healing Ministry?

Healing Ministry sessions may offer rest and relaxation to someone under stress or a person not sleeping well. It can help manage severe physical illnesses. Healing Touch complements conventional health care and is used in collaboration with other approaches and treatments. It is often an important part of an intentional spiritual journey. At all times, the confidentiality of the person is respected.

Centered on God

Healing has three components: God; the person seeking healing; and the healer. Individuals who engage in the practice of healing are instruments of God. We learn and practice necessary skills but the power and potential for healing always comes from God. We are simply conduits through which God’s grace can flow to those who need it. The person asking for healing is also actively involved, open to what God is offering during a session and beyond. A typical session starts with an analysis of the energetic system of the client. Non-invasive techniques utilize the hands to clear, energize
and balance the human and environmental energy fields, thus affecting physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and healing. It is based on a heart-centered, caring relationship in which the practitioner and person receiving come together energetically to facilitate the client’s health and healing.

What happens in a healing session?

Our Healing Ministry Teams use touch to influence the human energy field that surrounds the body and the energy centres that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body. The client is fully clothed throughout the session.

The healer’s training path

In healing there are skills to develop that may take time and experience. The physical body, nervous system and brain all require consistent training. Then these parts of the healer come together to transmit the power, energy, grace, compassion and other divine qualities to facilitate healing that flows from God.

The path of an individual committed to being a vessel for God’s healing is an evolutionary one. It requires commitment, spiritual practice and dedication to self-growth. Yet while we may be called a healer, it is always God who heals.
