This past weekend we had our inaugural Chinook Winds Regional Meeting held in Lethbridge AB. Chinook Winds Regional replaces the previous Presbyteries and Conferences and is the area south of Highway 16. Our meeting was two days and consisted of business, worship, covenanting etc.
We began our first day with worship and a sermon given by a previous St. Andrew’s ordinand Rev. Tammy Allan. The afternoon and evening was full of business, sharing and listening to where the Spirit may be leading us. Pam Rocker from Affirming Connections offered a proposal to the court which was voted on the second day.
Day 2 at Chinook Winds Regional Meeting was pretty eventful.
Youth shared some of their creations, proposals were voted on including a proposal brought forward from Affirming Connections and beginning the process of becoming an Affirming Region.
We voted on process of Chinook Executive going forward, being in good relations with our Indigenous siblings, and a few others. Regional Executive was commissioned, and the Executive Minister and staff were covenanted.
Thank you for all your prayers this weekend and may we be reminded that we are not alone on the journey. We stand alongside many other communities of faith within the Region all working towards sharing Christ ministry with the world.
Special thanks to Merle Ann May, Mike Sword and Richard Betts for being the Lay Representatives for St. Andrew’s. We are so thankful for your service!
