Urban Indigenous CircleThe Urban Indigenous Circle (UIC) is a cooperative opportunity for Indigenous people to find a spiritual home in Calgary; a place for all Indigenous people to gather, discuss and practice their cultural teachings and ceremonies. The United Church of Canada is an open and welcoming Christian community that welcomes all those of different traditions and backgrounds to join us. We welcome all.

The UIC is intended to be a ministry by Indigenous people for Indigenous people who seek a place to live out their Indigenous spiritual calling in the urban setting. It is supported by Hillhurst, McDougall, and St. Andrew’s United Churches in Calgary.  The Circle is part of a United Church response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action in Calgary, building on a historic relationship with Morley and Maskwacis faith communities.

The Urban Indigenous Circle will host a pipe ceremony on 2 December 2018, beginning at 4 PM at Hillhurst United Church, to bless the efforts of the United Church and the Nations participating. Our inaugural event for the Circle will take place in January.
