As I finish packing up my stuff in the office and putting everything else in order, it is time for me to say my Good Bye on our website. I will probably be using Thursday to get ready for the trip to Milk River, and will be on the trip from Friday morning to Sunday evening. Monday will be spent helping Hillary settle in to her office.
Serving St. Andrew’s provided me with an opportunity for ministry with a strong focus on the future and on looking outward, and I greatly appreciate that opportunity. I am thankful for working with the people I met here, a great group of people who care deeply about other people. You have great gifts and strengths with the potential for building a new kind of church, the kind of church thousands of people need and seek.
Please believe in yourself and respond to invitations and opportunities provided by Hillary and others to initiate activities, projects and programs that reach both people on the margins of St. Andrew’s and those with no church connections. Invite your friends, families and colleagues to share with you in building a beautiful new world.
May the Grace of our Lord, Jesus, the one who leads the way, the love of God who made us to be courageous and loving, and the companionship of the Spirit who goes both beside us and ahead of us, be with you all this day and on into the future. Note that Jesus inverted the meaning of the word, Lord, from one with power over us to one with power for us.
