I just read an email from the Calgary Interfaith Council and there is an event next Tuesday through Friday that may be of interest to youth and young adults interested in interfaith dialogue.
Calgary Interfaith Council News
Celebrating Our Diversity Now
February, 20th – 23rd 2018
The Calgary Armenian Church Parish will be putting on a interreligious dialogue event; They are bringing together young leaders and clergy (~18-35 years of age) from a variety or religious communities including (but not limited to) Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, and Hindu. Calgary’s event will be the 3rd of 4 interreligious young adult meetings in large Canadian cities with the hope of establishing a national network of Young Adults interested in Interreligious Dialogue and Engagement across Canada. It is not necessary to attend all 4 days.
The project would bring together young leaders and clergy from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, and Hindu Communities. At each meeting, each faith community will be represented by three young leaders of 18-35 years of age, and one clergy, appointed by the religious communities themselves.
It is anticipated that the Project would provide the first-hand information about the Canadian religious diversity, each other’s religions, and the ecumenical and interfaith dialogue in Canada.
We hereby invite the youth to apply for participation in the Project by submitting a Letter of Interest to Holy Almighty Armenian Church of Calgary – firstname.lastname@example.org;
In each city, three young leaders of 18-35 years of age will be selected to participate in the meetings. The participants will have to make a short presentation, that will cover one aspect of the life of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Canada. They do not need to attend all 4 days.
There is no fee for participation.
At the end of these meetings there will be a website dedicated to the project and to the youth who participated in the interfaith dialogue. They will also have created a documentary film about inter-religious engagement across Canada.
There is no fee for participation in the meetings, and the Armenian Diocese will provide meals for the participants of the meetings.
If you are interested in participating, please email Mayda, the local organizer for the Armenian Diocese of Canada: email@example.com
