Our St. Andrew’s Sandwich Makers were hard at work this last Thursday making meals for The Drop In Centre, slightly challenged in their efforts. Normally the monthly bread delivery for the sandwiches brings sliced bread. Instead, it brought boxes of unsliced bread of all varieties — even raisin bread. So the Sandwich makers adding slicing bread to their tasks and at the end, one HUGE box full of delicious-smelling bread remained.
Campus Ministry representatives were meeting at St. Andrew’s Centre and were encouraged to take bread for the Thursday Night Simple Supper. Pictured are Lutheran Chaplain Margaret Propp and Robert Massey of the United-Presbyterian Campus Ministry. The rest of the bread was distributed further afield and every recipient welcomed their loaves.
The gifts of bread brought to life many Biblical stories and verses of God’s grace and bounty including this one from Second Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
