God willing, I will be attending the Messy Church Conference at Wycliff College in Toronto on October 26 and 27. Messy Church is an international organization that promotes a kind of activity very similar to Pathways. While I hope to apply some of what I will learn to our all ages Saturday events, my time at St. Andrew’s will be limited. I an inviting members and friends of St. Andrew’s to consider this event, and I will ask the Council to provide some financial support to those who do attend. The registration fee is $175 per person.
Bonnie and I will be flying to Toronto on Wednesday, October 25 so she can spend time with a good friend while I am at the conference. Our plan is to stay in her niece’s apartment in the Distillery District while in Toronto. We will leave Friday after the conference ends at 4 pm to visit our daughter in Montreal, and then returning to Calgary on October 31.
The conference starts at noon on Thursday with the opening introductions and worship at 1:00 pm and ends at 4pm on Friday. Wycliffe College is about half way between Yonge Street and Spadina. The following link takes you to the Conference page on the Wycliffe College website:
If you are interested in going, please let me know and also talk to a member of Council. Thank you for considering attending this event.
